Killarney's lakes and rivers have salmon and brown trout. Brown trout fishing is free on the Lakes of Killarney;

Local Managed Trout Fisheries

Thirteen trout fisheries are stocked and managed in the Cork/Kerry region. 50,000 adult trout are released into these fisheries each season, supplementing supplies of native brown trout, suited to specialists and casual tourist anglers.
